This is only an activation key. I’m an IT guy and I had problems installing this. My initial attempt saw the installer failing with a strange error code and instructions to call a number in Australia from the UK – no thanks.

I noticed a chat box so used that. I had then to install goToAssistCustomer probably shouldn’t have. Anyway during the chat with an illiterate I was told I would need to install “security” as the illiterate put it. There was going to be a charge for this. I said I didn’t trust this and would revert to amazon.

The conversation was terminated instantly. Had another go and everything worked fine including completely different web pages. If this was a scam how did they intervene at the start of the process?

If this rings true be careful. Do not buy this version of office, I’ve spent over 2 hours this evening trying to get this product to download, which took over an hour and a call to Microstoft and then install. Once installed it would not accept the product key. Another call to Microsoft and an hour on the phone to India.

Even after two hours, MS support gave up as they could not get the software working and are going to have to get someone from Technical to call me back. One person found this helpful. I bought this in February as upgrade for Office for Mac. It might look better but using Word is pretty well impossible if you want to save pages. Very disappointed and trying to reinstall office which worked. I was sceptical but took the plunge due to the low cost.

No problems at all. A product key was posted to my house 3 days after the order was placed. The process is: Go to the Microsoft website, type in the key, download the software, install it, authorise it again with the key and voila, a fully functioning version of Office. Just works great and means that you can use a Mac without needing Windows. The cheapest MS Office I could find on the net, but not at all straightforward to install I spent almost a whole day and several attempts before it was fully installed and functional.

One star because of the time and stress involved in getting the code to work, it does work but Microsoft support are no help whatsoever, I just figured this out for myself!!!!! I do hope this review helps all you folk who are trying to redeem the code, but please Amazon tell purchasers that using your links are the only way to get the code to work, and that they won’t need to install Office from scratch if they do this.

I have just wasted 2 hours of my life figuring this out for myself, so hardly work the 15 quid I saved over getting office to auto renew. This is the 6th time I have ordered this through Amazon going back yearly since and each time it works flawlessly. I have Office installed on 2 or 3 computers but having access to 6TB of cloud storage is the big draw for me, providing ample space to store backups etc.

A lot of people are complaining that although it says it’s for 6 computers the code only works on one. Let me quickly explain that is actually correct and what is meant to happen. It’s not like the older Office products where you stick the CD in and install it providing a license key each time. The code supplied is effectively a voucher redeem code, not a reusable activation key.

If this is the first time you have purchased Office then you need to create an account via the Office. Once you have done this the code is dead and no longer usable. To install this on either one or more computer simply log into Office.
